Hey, I'm Mark (A.K.A mpmc) I'm 19 light-years old, I began programming HTML at the tender (Do I really look like meat...? Don't answer that!) age of nine. I slowly began to venture onto greater things, In this case Visual Basic. ;)
Muttering can be heard at how crap VB really is....
On that, I must agree with you, Although, I've seen many programs that are created in VB, Which turned out to be very good & worth while... Anyway where was I, Oh yes, Many years had passed... 5 to be exact..
After being invited to a conversation with the brilliant BOT2K3, I instantly fell in love with it, It's cool & exciting menus, I could search from Messenger without having to open another browser window! Shocking I know ;)
I began to grow very attached to B2K3 & wondered if, I could create my own, After many hours of googling 'MSN Messenger BOT's'.. I came across a link titled 'Windows Messenger API' It showed how to use & hook the Windows Messenger API in Visual Basic.. If like magic, Systra 0.1 was born, I won't go into much detail now, It wasn't very good.. 2 Years had passed Systra was now version 1.0... & featured on mess.be
Then something bad happened!
Dramatic music can be heard..
I got spammed by the then DC BOT, At the time I was on dial-up, My poor modem, How she burnt out!
'Use MSNP You idiot, Emoticon Emoticon Emoticon' at least 1000 times for a couple of days until I finally shut Systra down for good..
Some how, I can't remember how, Now oddly, I managed to add Siebe ('Inky') to my Contact list, I explained what had happened & he pointed me to the now dying Hypothetic after many hours of Coding & bugging Inky with 10 messages per minute, I managed to create a working (If incomplete Bot).
I really now began to hate VB & decided to learn PHP, It took me 1-2 years to learn it, But, I did it with the help of my good swedish friend DVDmanDT..
Although, I've not managed to run a successful Messenger BOT, I still code quite a bit to this day & I shall continue...
