Isn't the new 'secure' authentication less secure? It would not take much effort to put a transparent proxy server between the client and server, and have the client encrypting the data with the proxy servers key instead. My idea is that Microsoft did this to make MSN more integrated with .NET Passport and use the same authentication methods as every passport service.
